Alaska Lands in Alaska Hands:

The first principle of private economy is the acquisition of land into private hands. It is not surprising that Alaska, apart from the oil industry, has an anemic private economy. The State of Alaska has jurisdiction over 24% of Alaska and less than .5% of Alaska's lands are held in private ownership disregarding 13% owned by the native corporations.Additionally, the federal government maintains 64% of Alaska's land mass, which constitutes the largest federal holding in America. It is the position of the American Party of Alaska to encourage aggressive conveyance of state land to private citizens, especially state land accessible by road. Additionally, The American Party of Alaska supports enjoining a lawsuit with other states of the west who have been substantially impacted with substantial land grabs from the federal government. This is an act of discrimination and a direct violation of the "equal footing doctrine."
